Supporting Refugee and Immigrant Youth Through Education.
We partnered with AdaptWell to develop an accessible mobile app that provides language learning and well-being resources for newly arrived refugee and immigrant children in the UK.
A Multilingual, Adaptive Learning Platform.
To meet AdaptWell’s goals, we developed a cross-platform mobile app using Flutter, which gives consistent performance across iOS and Android devices. Designed around accessibility, usability, and inclusivity, the platform supports users from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds while delivering educational support. It combines tailored content delivery with community integration and real-time feedback, which goes further than traditional learning tools. The app addresses immediate educational needs, and anonymous data collection also contributes to long-term resource development and supports ongoing research and platform improvement.
Key features include multilingual support in ten languages including Cantonese, Ukrainian, and Arabic, so users can engage with the platform in their preferred language. An interactive onboarding assessment evaluates each user’s English proficiency and personal context, so the app can deliver educational content that suits their skill level and local needs. To strengthen community connection, the app includes location-based directories that link users to local services such as food banks and support centres. A built-in feedback system lets users share their experiences, so the platform evolves in response to real-world needs and AdaptWell can keep refining it and expanding its impact.
